Thanksgiving

In life some things change and some things stay the same.  One thing that hasn’t changed at the Chattanooga Rescue Mission is our annual Thanksgiving Day dinner.  We have averaged feeding around 300 – 400 people each year.  We do our best with your generous help to provide a delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal to the homeless in our community.  Anyone in the area who may not be able to enjoy Thanksgiving with family or friends is welcome.   It costs an average of $2.05 to serve each person a traditional Thanksgiving meal.  Another way to help is by donating turkeys, hams, cranberry sauce, pumpkin or pecan pies, rolls, green beans or bottled water or tea.

While many of us look forward to the changing seasons with the cooler weather, it is a more difficult time for those who are homeless in our community.  The colder weather along with the sadness that may accompany being without family on the holidays can be disheartening.  Your generosity helps us to bring some joy to needy lives at special times of the year.
