Ben called around to get quotes for a new Thanksgiving sign to hang outside the mission. He talked to Millie at Custom Werks Graphics. She donated the sign and signed up for the next tour!
Don has been providing the mission with tea at Thanksgiving for many years. He was back this week with thirty-two gallons of tea for Thanksgiving Day!
The mission not only feeds the homeless on Thanksgiving Day. It also shares Thanksgiving dinner with the community. Jordan and his friends from Concord Baptist came and passed out flyers to invite the neighborhood in for the special meal.
The Bartlett family helped during Thanksgiving last year. They were back Monday for the Potato Peel. They will return for the Turkey Pull Wednesday and are scheduled to play music on Thanksgiving Day!
Our friends Bev and Fred donated four turkeys for our Thanksgiving meal. They are also coming back for our annual Turkey Pull!
The turkeys are thawing! The food preparations have begun for our big Thanksgiving Day lunch! We appreciate the overwhelming response we have had for volunteers on Thanksgiving Day. The food gifts have also continued to come into the mission.
We are looking forward to the mission's annual Turkey Pull! Staff and friends gather the evening before Thanksgiving to pull the meat off the turkey bones and slice the hams. This year we plan to debone twenty turkeys and slice fifteen hams.
